Enjoy !
Anton Tikhonov, Ievan Polkka. 03/03/2024
Some people of culture will be remembered about Loituma.
Other people of culture will remember Bilal and his drums, those people will vibe to the song in a cattish way.
Also made me discover Hatsune Miku…I’ll stay with the 2 above.
This is an incredible play. The catchy melody is reproduced in full control. Anton’s a precise guitarist.
Franco Morone, Lives at the Edge. 03/03/2024
Franco is a talented guitarist, creating nice melodies. While not being a technique beast, this song can be a good pick to join some chill playlists.
August Parth, Dolly Parton – Jolene. 03/03/2024
Jolene…Jolene…That’s a very good cover of the song. The melody really sticks to the head. I do think that the Rhodes solo was fitting great, could be nice to have more content like this in the future.
Leon Alex, Bethel Music and Jehn Johnson – Goodness of God. 03/03/2024
Without wordplay, it sounds heavenly…
Thomas Zwijsen, Scorpions – Wind of change. 04/03/2024
Thomas wants to assert his dominance on famous rock songs fingerstyle covers these days. Of course he doesn’t start without any background sources. Kelly Valleau covered the song with a strong use of harmonics (something like 10 years ago). Fabio Lima also have tried the song. Maybe a personal favorite would be the virtuosity Alexandr Misko put into the song. It’s not the first time Thomas try the song either. Anyway, the song sounds to my ears better on classical guitar than on the acoustic guitar. The cloudish, heavenly side of the melody of the song is translated really well by the classical guitar, where the acoustic guitar seems to struggle to get to that point. The results make a definitely worthy cover, probably my new favorite cover of this song.
Trevor Gordon, Debussy – Clair de Lune. 05/03/2024
Combining fingerstyle guitar and kalimbatar, Trevor releases a peaceful bomb. That’s just beautiful. The combination makes it an original skill that Trevor mastered over the years. Being already from the top of the purely fingerstyle guitarists, he gained even more specificity over the years, making him an important artist in the fingerverse.
Jamie Dupuis, Nirvana – Come As You Are. 06/03/2024
A cover made on some cool electric guitar. The sound is full of reverb, put in smooth harmony. We need more electric guitar fingerstyle.

Charles Berthoud, Frank Sinatra – My Way. 07/02/2024
Charles’s virtuosity is not to question. This version of My Way contains mainly tapings, so it is gentle and suits all relaxing moods.
Davie504, Tenacious D (Britney Spears at first) – …Baby One More Time. (Made for Kung Fu Panda 4 theme song) 07/03/2024
Now here are 4 things I like reunited : Pandas, martial arts, Davie504, and Tenacious D. While this might talk more to people from 20 to 40, being in that age gap, I had to put it. Davie is a really strong bassist. He is the most followed bassist on Youtube (I don’t know if there is even a guitarist with that many followers).
Daniel Came – The Empty Chair. 08/03/2024
The composition is a delight for the ears. I discovered Daniel Came with this song. It seems like he has written a few songs only. But this is extremely promising, and I can’t wait to hear more from him. If he continues with the same power, I expect him to rise among the top guitar players. Wish him all the best.
And please consider giving him some support on Spotify, 15 listeners per month is criminally underrated : https://open.spotify.com/intl-fr/artist/3hreFlGh9QWkwGulLCJ0Jq?si=kldlNQYiS6KWSMUpOkmHtw.
Thomas Zwijsen, Iron Maiden – Flight of Icarus. 08/03/2024
Thomas continues to release rock covers on his classical guitar. The sound quality and precision are always there. What a framework you’re in Thomas ! The surrounding mountains are gorgeous. Also, the dog feels relaxed by the music.
Mathieu Fiset, Des Marteaux et des Cordes (album). 08/03/2024
In this album by Mathieu Fiset (a talented pianist) you can hear some fingerstyle parts from Antoine Dufour, who is a world class fingerstyle player, in the song ‘Trilogie’.
Tommy Berre and Denis Turbide, Wildwood Waltz. 08/03/2024
2 talented guitarists offering us a very, very, very peaceful waltz.
Kelly Valleau, Bonnie Tyler – Total Eclipse of the Heart. 08/03/2024
The weekly song of Kelly. The play is accurate as usual. It would’ve been nice to see what more time of practice by Kelly could’ve given to this song which is a classic monument. I believe he could have put it to a superior level. It is still very nice to hear nonetheless.
Casper Esmann, Toto – Rosanna. 09/03/2024
Yes, Casper is a great guitarist. He is constant and has a soothing style that I appreciate a lot. I feel like his play is getting better and better, with more control over sound intensity. He manages to send more appropriate emotions, and that’s for the pleasure of our ears. Theses are tiny and subtle enhancements, but that’s what separates the cream of the cream from the very good players.
Pay attention around 40 seconds, you will see the capo sliding !

Ryuzo, Pink Lady – UFO. 09/03/2024
We will continue the Japan’s week. Now I must admit, I don’t know much about it, but Jpop from the 70’s looks fun. At least I’m entertained by Pink Lady. It makes a bit bluesy cover with some interesting chords.
Alexandr Misko and Boldachev, Cranberries – Zombie. 11/03/2024
This arrangement is made with harp and guitar. Alexandr puts his virtuosity in the song, with his mastered technique of tunning down and up the strings, coupling super well the sounds of the harp. This cover was made as a tribute to Alexei Navalny.
Estas Tonne and Ali Ghamsari (+ others), Angels and Demons (live). 12/03/2024
This release drops like a bomb. Estas on the guitar, Ali on the Tar. The level of skill is very high. People who like these oriental instruments and melodies will be super pleased.
Igor Presnyakov, CẮT ĐÔI NỖI SẦU (ft DRUM7) – TĂNG DUY TÂN. 13.03.2024
The play and the sound are clean. Even I didn’t know the song, I was very pleased to hear this fingerstyle cover version. Igor is a top-class guitarist.
Dustin Furlow, Serene. 14/03/2024
I am very pleased by this discovery. This is nice to see fingerstyle artists who manage to sing while playing. This is a hard feature, but really well managed. The arpeggios are beautiful. If you like John Meyer, you should check out this new artist. The recording was made with Candyrat (which is a quality mark).
Tripliciti, Momento Vivere. 14/03/2024
Another title of their incoming album on 4th April, still realized with brio (Tripliciti is composed of Andy McKee, Trevor Gordon Hall, and Calum Graham). They have a very gentle touch, they know how to play together and are making a great harmony.
Tripliciti’s website : https://tripliciti.com/.
Marcin, Bill Weithers – Ain’t Noe Sunshine. 15/03/2024
A very young guitarist, of which I would willingly give the title of the best fingerstyle technician. He is the guitarist who put the most complex layers as One-Man Band. I feel that his emotional play also keeps getting better and better. It will be quite hard to top this piece this month…Even the kitties are impressed.

Thomas Zwijsen, Guns N’ Roses – Sweet child O’ Mine. 15/03/2024
This time Thomas attacks Sweet Child O’ Mine with his classical guitar. The quality of his work is still on point. I wonder, where do we go now for the next background ? (really liked the mountains and the dogs of previous videos)
Tommy Emmanuel and Michael Cleveland, Mr. Guitar. 15/03/2024
Tommy plays with a fiddle talent. The song is an old song from Tommy’s répertoire, and is a tribute to Chet Atkins (Whom Mr. Guitar is the surname). I prefer this version, the collaboration between the 2 players is awesome.
Gareth Evans, A-AH – Take on Me. 16/03/2024
Gareth covers are always qualitative. While not being mind-blowing, they have consistency in their quality, which is high. If you want to progress at fingerstyle, you might want to check his channel, where he gives also lessons and sells tabs (sometimes learning by lesson can be more productive than just by tab).
Guus Dielissen, Olivia Newton John – Hopelessly Devoted To You (Grease). 16/03/2024
A well transcript fingerstyle cover from the musical comedy movie Grease.
Maneli Jamal, Sting – Fields of Gold. 17/03/2024
Maneli managed to give a great deal of emotions and relaxation through that one. Good to listen to when tired.
Satoshi Gog, Haru (classical guitar version). 17/03/2024
Satoshi is making a remake of his song on classical guitar, and he is in control. The composition is nice, well seen to have make a classical version of it.
Ami Inoi, Evanescence – My Immortal. 17/03/2024
This is what I like to see the most with classical guitar : sound volume control. And when it’s done well like here, it makes a pleasant play to listen to, when in need for relaxation moments
Jin San Kim, Spider. 19/03/2024
Jin released a new song, and again he shows his virtuosity at work. A very set of techniques is applied there. He is using a spider capo (that allows you to block only the strings that you want), giving him more freedom to exercise his creativity.
Thomas Zwijsen (feat Wiki Violin), Scorpions – Send me an angel. 20/03/2024
I hope Thomas serie will never stop. Back on the boat, accompanied by a talented violinist, a wonderful cover of Send me an Angel. The décor suits well the music.
Eddie Van Der Meer, Yorushika「晴る」Haru – Sousou no Frieren (OP2). 25/03/2024
Nothing special here, just a pleasant cover with well timed strings percussions.
Jamie Dupuis, Audioslave – Like a Stone. 26/03/2024
The song is in control on the guitar part, the percussions parts are nicely made, and the harp comes to give a certain depth to the whole. So yes, overall a good cover.
Hwajong Kim, Park Joo-Won – Fiesta of Sorrows (슬픔의 피에스타). 26/03/2024
This is a fingerpicking solo. We don’t have much of it here, but when realized with talent and hard work it’s just joyful.
Kent Nishimura, Billy Joel – Movin’ Out. 29/03/2024
Billy Joel songs offer a special way of playing that is refreshing in the fingerstyle play. Not so much percussion, a lot of poly melodies, a bit like playing the piano a guitar as a chords base instead of a more ‘classical’ way of playing the chords on guitar.
Alex Boldin, Starry Sky. 29/03/2024
If there is one thing I never miss, it’s the videos of Candyrat Records. The piece is reflecting quiet and an emptiness that is indeed, sounding like a starry sky.
Charles Berthoud, Ahah – Take on Me. 29/03/2024
Charles’s work is super qualitative as always. It’s a delight for bass enjoyers !
Maneli Jamal – Fall Into Me. 29/03/2024
Maneli continues his work, full of calm. For people who want to listen to relaxing music.
Sungha Jung, RIIZE – Get a Guitar. 30/03/2024
As usual, super clean work. Swingy, quite a lot of strings percussions. If you like blues, you’ll probably enjoy this quite a lot. The rhythm stays in the head, which is difficult to realize on the guitar.
