Top of the Month : February 2024

The most appreciated and mindblowing fingerstyle releases of february

We will give the ranking of the 6 most appreciated mindblowing releases. We chose 6 songs release because we judged them to be on a whole different level than the competition.

Enjoy !

At 6th place, from the gaming category we have :

Remi Cote, Skyrim’s main theme. 23/02/2024

Rémi chose to cover a classic. There are not a lot of songs that hits as hard as this one in the video game universe. This is a top level gaming song, and this is a also a top level cover. Rémi has a wide pannel of fingerstyle techniques that he s good at. He has few views on his channel, but definitely deserves more, he is a very promising artist.

At 5th place, from the category of the fingerstyle in a song, we have

Mark Knopfler – Watch me go. 25/02/2024

There is just something about this song that gives me goosebumps. The voice Mark aged so well. The song is definitely not in hurry, we can contemplate it and let ourselves be transported by it’s waves.

At 4th place, from the traditional instrument category, we have

Moyun, Astor Piazzolla – Libertango. 02/02/2024

The amount of creativity, the techniques, the execution, everything is perfect. It was hard to decide for the third place.

For the bronze medal, from the fingerstyle song cover category we have :

Thomas Zwijsen, AC/DC – Thunderstuck. 17/02/2024

When someone manages to impress and come up with new ideas on a song like Thunderstuck, it means something. Props to you Thomas, insane technique, precision, emotion, and amount of work put into that one.

For the silver medal, from the symphonic category, we have :

Nicholas Yee and David Jay, Attack On Titans suite. 19/02/2024

That was insanely beautiful. They both give the best of themselves and are making a formidable duo. We hope to keep hearing more of them together. They released an accoustic masterpiece there. Prepare for a rewardful 20 minutes trip.

Finally, the gold medal from the beyond mortal category goes to :

Mike Dawes, Foo Fighters – Everlong. 16/02/2024

Mike is special. He is one of the very few guitar players that are far ahead “of the game”, bringing this “something more” that is impossible to define. He also has a solid knowledge of the material (pedals and such), and provides clear sound at any time. The percussive sounds of the chorus leave me speechless.
